Organic cotton facecloths

For Christmas presents I’ve been knitting some facecloths in naturally dyed Rowan Purelife organic cotton. I’ll be honest and say that I still don’t like knitting with cotton, but this really is lovely stuff. My favourite of the colours is a subtle yellow, dyed with rhubarb.

I used the  Spa Day Facecloth pattern by Anne Mancine, a free download on Ravelry that makes a simple waffle weave texture, and with the soft cotton I think they’ll be lovely to use.

To go with the facecloths, Wayne found some very special soaps at Klein’s on Brunswick Street…

  1. Beautiful Tony. I’m very impressed. Best wishes.

  2. Oooh, dyed with rhubarb? Have you been dyeing?! You must tell!

    • I’m afraid the dying was done by those clever people at Rowan. However… reading about your dying adventures has got me intrigued and I have bought a book! “Dyes from kitchen produce” by Setsuko Ishii. Do you know it? I might do some dabbling over summer!

  3. Went to comment on your sweater, but the post was gone?! Anyway, congrats on finishing it, it looked fabulous.

And I’m sure your mother is going to adore her wonderful facecloths and that delicious-looking soap!

    Merry Christmas!

    • Thanks Staci… oops, I somehow accidentally set that sweater blog post to draft, its now back! The sweater is now soaking ready to block out later…

Hope you have a lovely Christmas!
