We made gyoza

Making Japanese dumplings is easy peasy if you have a gyoza press from the 100 yen shop! Ours are filled with a mix of carrot, leek, cabbage, shiitake and tofu with ginger, mirin, tamari and – not very Japanese but what the heck – coriander leaf.

The trick with the filling is to avoid temptation and not to put too much in. The elephant spoon turned out to be just the right size.

  1. Oh that is so cool! I’ll have to look out for one of those presses.

  2. This is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen and I’m totes going to pick up a gyoza press next time I duck into Tokuya! 😀

  3. We love Tokuya!! Have you been to Daiso in Richmond?

  4. oh ho! a cunning plan! I shall have to watch out for that press – I’ve made them all by hand before but it does take time 🙂
