Onigiri

We made Japanese brown rice balls for breakfast this morning, delicious with some miso soup…

The one on the left has umeboshi pickled plum and red shiso leaf, and the one on the right has tamari, nori flakes and sesame seeds. I dry toasted them in a heavy pan which makes them crispy and gives the brown rice a toasty, nutty flavour. Yum.
